How to file E-TDS returns in tally

“TDS” is a direct tax and a means to collect tax at prescribed rates from the source of income. The amount of tax generated on income must deposited to government in prescribed manner after deducting the tax due. Now days “TDS” online filling being very convenient for depositing tax taken the whole concept of TDS returns. The returns may file to the prescribed website or portal recommended by govt.

There are different software which can easily calculate and generates the “TDS” amount in various types of forms. it create e-returns for online filling and These software also liable for making TDS entries for particular during quarter or year.

 

How to calculate “TDS” payable

 

For calculating the tax due we can use software having facility to generate “TDS” returns after recording of all the necessary entries related to tax deducted at sources it generates forms 26q, 27Q etc. for calculating “TDS” entries you can prefer this article.

 

Prerequisites for uploading TDS return.

Before we upload our return on the portal we must have some perquisites ready for e- filling procedure which are as follows:

1.   For filling returns you should have a valid TAN and must be registered for e- filling.

2.   The TDS return must be prepared using returns preparation utility (RPU) and validated through file validation utility (FVU).

3.   The details of bank accounts for which the PAN is registered on portal.

 

 

Filling of “TDS” return using tally ERP 9.

 

Here are all steps by step return filling procedure with tally erp 9:

 

Step 1: open tally software now go to display select statutory reports then choose form 26q then verify TDS return.

 

 

Step 2: Then press f6 key for saving return then press escape afterward select return transaction book then press Ctrl +e for export of return it will save as tally.txt and you can find it on tally file location.



Step 3: Go to “incometaxfilling.gov.in” or prescribed original website and click on login. Then click on upload TDS option.


Step 4: the file must be validated through file validation utility, for downloading FUV go to particular prescribed website example: tin.nsdl.com.

 

Step 5: After downloading FUV now go to file location and open it then follow below option.

     1.Open tally file location then find tally txt document then copy            its path then enter on fist head of FUV.

2.      2.In second head of FUV enter the path with name of challan file        name ( if don’t have go to the website of tin.nsdl. com or other          prescribed website then go to services à challan status inquiry          àTIN based view then provide details and download file.)

3.     3. Enter the path of second head only.

4.     4. Last head remains blank.

5.     5.Then press validate.

 


 

Step 5: After validating you are able to validate using an electronic verification code (EVC). Upload TDS zip file then click on e-verify.
